There is a lot of hype related to this movie. It surpassed 300 Million+ in 10 days. On Superherohype.com, alot are eager for this film to take down Titanic at 600 Million+. Here is what I wrote on the boards of a this thread today. The Dark Knight Reaches a Record $314.2M in 10 Days!

"I love the film, but I am not going to hold my breath on it beating Titanic's numbers. I hope at minimum it beats Spider-Man at 404 million+, I would love for it to get 460 million+ and become number 2 all time passing Star Wars. I would be ecstatic to have it be the second movie to earn 500 million+. But I think Titanic's numbers are a far reach. Especially with the higher ticket prices today, and no other film getting close. Though at this time. If any film is going to do it. This would be that film. I saw it 4 times so far. Hope to see it maybe a few more times before I wait to buy it on DVD and have to wait hopefully no more than 3 years for my Nolan directed Batman fix. "

Needless to say, I love this film. I only had a few issues with it, that might not even be issues. If you have not seen it yet, what is wrong with you? I have not written a review on any films lately. And I really am not writing one for this movie. I think with all the other reviews out there, as well as all the buzz surrounding it, nothing on this blog will persuade anyone on the fence from seeing this movie. I will just say, go see it and you will not be disappointed.

I will try and get back on the horse with writing on this blog, life just has a way of making one more busy at times than you thought you might be.

My Answer to the BCS Championship Game

Note, as conferance championships are determined and the rankings are finallized, I am going to update this post.

Well thanks to the OSU - Michigan game, and West Virginia - Cincinnati playing later tonight. I have been thinking of the BCS Bowl Games and how it compares to a playoff system in college football. I think I have been in favor of a playoff system in the past, but I think the bowl system work. It just needs fine tuning. Here is my thoughts on the subject. There are 11 Division I-A conferances in college football. Based off of a quick glance at ESPN, there are the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Conference USA, Mid American, Mountain west, Pacific 10, SEC, Sun Belt, and WAC Conferances. So lets have a 6 bowl game system which features the conferance champion of each conferance plus either the highest rated independent school, or if they all suck, the highest ranked non champion.

The BCS National Championship game would feature the two highest ranked conferance champions. Ideally they should be ranked as #1 and #2. I mean, if you don't win your conferance, how should you expect to be in the national chapionship game? Also, take out the human polls. Base the rankings on the computer scores. Last year I was pumped for a OSU/Michigan rematch in the national championship game. But how messed up would it be to reconize OSU as the Big Ten Champion and Michigan as the National Champion? That type of thing would just make the conferance championship somewhat meaningless. The rest of the bowl games should feature the rest of the conferance champions either based on thier rank, or just by a lottery process. So this would add 1 more BCS bowl.

Now in the case of conferances like the Big Ten who can have co-champions. Either they get a conferance championship game, have tie breaking proceedures based on heads up play, or the BCS will reconize the highest ranked "co champion" as the BCS reconized champion for that conferance.

Here are the current list of conferance champions (CPU rank, Current BCS rank):
ACC - Virginia Tech (#1, #3)
Big 12 - Oklahoma (#6, #4)
Big East - West Virginia (#10, #9)
Big Ten - Ohio State University (#3, #1)
Conference USA - UCF (Unranked)
Mid American - Miami (Unranked)
Mountain west - Brigam Young (#19, #17)
Pacific 10 - Could not find
SEC - LSU (#2, #2)
Sun Belt - Florida Atlantic (Unranked) (Florida Atlantic won the conference's automatic bowl bid through a tiebreaker by virtue of its head-to-head victory against Troy.)
WAC - Hawaii (#12, #10)
Independent OR Highest Ranked Non Conferance Champion - Missouri (#4, #6)

And based on the CPU rank, here would be your money game.
BCS Championship Game: Virginia Tech vs LSU

The other 10 teams would play in other bowl games.

So I thought I would say hello once again to my blog. I have been extreamly busy recently. Here are a few short blurps if you are intrested.

Been looking for a house or new apartment.

Movies have been so-so lately. The only movies I would write a review about are "300", "The Bourne Ultimatium" and "Transformers". See those if you havenn't already.

I watched the Bills beat up on the Bengals yesterday. Lynch made a fantastic run during the game.

My Fiance

Jessica is my fiance. She is simply amazing & I want to tell everyone about it - I want to scream it from the roof-tops. I honestly don't know how I got so lucky finding a girl as intelligent, talented, and gorgeous as she is. And did I mention that I basically robbed the cradle with this one? She's only 22 & she's in the hottest sorority on campus...and you know that Kentucky girls are the best.

Although she is extremely high maintenance (she requires manicures and pedicures on alternating weekends) and quite fussy at times (I should never deprive her of her Saturday "me nights"), I know that she is worth the extra effort. Even though she burns home-cooked meals and refuses to take lessons, it doesn't matter. One day she will be a highly paid doctor of anesthesiology and she can pay someone else to slave away in that unkown territory we know as the kitchen.

I love her! That's my Story and I'm sticking to it!

This review is a few weeks due. I really want to tell you how great the movie is and you should go see it. I will expand on this when I can.

House votes to increase the minimum wage.

Great, so over the next two years minimum wage is going to increase by $2.10. That's fantastic news for those who keep their jobs. The others that the companies can't afford to pay will be screwed as they have to hit the unemployment lines. Walmart won't be hit as much as the small family owned companies.

The unemployment rate will go up, and the media will blame Bush as we get closer to 2008. Hope you all enjoy the new congress you voted in who while voting for this won't see much of the blame. You got to love the media.

I just read this short article on IMDBs WENN feed. It's short, but if you read "Spielberg Blasts "Irresponsible" TV Industry". Spielberg basically says that he is concerened with what is on TV. He is concerned with his children seeing shows like CSI. Well, I would suggest looking into something called the V-Chip Steven. As far as I know, just about every TV made in the last 10 years has had one. And also, just about every cable/satilite box also has the same type of featured installed. You can block shows based on lots of criteria. Rating, time of day, I think by channel and some more. Parents have the power to monitor what thier children watches at home already. So parents like Steven Spielburg should educate themselves on the simple features of thier own TVs before trying lecuture parents on what they should and should not do with thier children.

Forest Park Sabres take second in the conferance

After some closer looking, it looks like I broke the 3 way tie of the division leaders I was with. I now got second place overall in the conferance. Something I think I should have had last week, but hey thats football. The division leaders are bold, and the members of thier respected divisions are colored as such. IITWI is holding on to the last wild card currently.

The Forest Park Sabres got some breathing room going 2 games over Dryer's In-It-To-Win-It. After defeating the Wuest Wackers 53 to 41.5. In-It-To-Win-It lost in a close contest, by 2 points, to the Doug Fups. The Sabres are continuing thier most impressive season to in thier franchise history.

Australia Nabs 15, Claims Foiled Terror Attack

Sweet!!!!

Well the article says that it is the largest counter terrorism operation in Australia. And that the opperation took a long time. Wow, you can't just snap your fingers to battle terrorism, imagine that. Australia has also never had an attack on its home soil, but they still are on the watch for it. People here in the states can learn a thing or two from our Aussie pals.

Banned Bible Study, Stifled Santa

So a residence advisor at a college decided to ban bible study groups in the dorms. They used the separation of church and state as an excuse for this ludicrous action. I can not believe that someone going to college would be so ignorant of what the separation of church and state is to imply. I don't feel like going into it, but separation of church and state simply was intended to say that the church can not make law for the state. It's not to say that the state can not recognized the church, or even make law based on church law if that is what the people vote for. I wonder what religious group was having the meetings; I would put 50 bucks on a Christian organization.

Porn 101? State University TV Show Sparks Outrage

Wow, a school in California is not going to punish a student for broadcasting a porn on the school airwaves. Not sure what I am more shocked by, the fact that a student had the nerve to show his fellow students what he is made of or not maybe. Or the fact that the administration at this college don't want to get involved in punishing this students involved. They figure let the students handle it themselves. Yea, that worked so well so far. I can imagine that this somehow violates some sort of student code of conduct. Well, if you want to see University of California Girls Gone Wild, no need to wait for the DVD to come out. The administration of this school is a joke.

Customer glued to toilet seat sues Home Depot

This news story is great. Someone played a unfortunate prank on a random person at Home Depot. They put glue on the toilet seat. The man is now sueing Home Depot because his cries for help went unanswered for 15 minutes. The best quote of the story "They just let me rot". Oh god that was so funny, I was seriously tearing up from laughter. Can I sue a resteraunt for letting me go 15 minutes before getting my food order in? They let me starve, I was skin and bones before I got my salad. But seriously, this dude is sueing Home Depot? That is just about the stupidest law suit I have heard of in a while. I hope he loses, which probably won't happen. Check out the story and let me know what you think.

Doom and Saw II, and more Movie Reviews

Been a while since I posted a review so here we go.

I saw Doom a few weeks ago and this movie was fun. Not too much though involved. And they kept the movie nice and bloody. Which was the draw to the original game. They stayed pretty true to the game and had a few inspired lines from The Rock that were funny. Check this movie out if you want to see a pretty fun action movie.

Last week I went to see Saw II. This movie was great. Definatly a sequal that deserved to be made. There are some twists that were unexpected and fit very nicely with the previous movie. If you never seen Saw, make sure you check it out before you see Saw II. This is a must see.

Another movie I recommened checking out is "The Greatest Game Ever Played". Its a feel good story.

"God of War" with Nick Cage, the father of Kal-El Cage, was an awsome movie. I liked it. I especially like the narrative part of the movie which explains the main charactors thoughs in different situations.

Those are a few highlights from the past few months. Check em out... especially if they are at the Buck shows.

BCFL Update - Week 8

What a dissapointing week. I should have and could have won this week if I did not change my recievers. Thats what you get for trying something new. Luckly everyone else in my division lost as well so I did not lose ground. But not only should I be 7-1-0, but I would have taken sole possession of second place in the conferance. Damn it.
